The Colosseum is the game's ranked team PvP, fought in the arena map Death Square. It is separate from Sacred War: faction does not decide the teams, and matches are short.
Entering
- Register from level 11.
- The Colosseum Manager and the Colosseum Middleman NPCs handle registration and the associated quests.
⭐ The Colosseum finally has a way in. The arena map, its tables and all six of its windows have shipped since the start, but the Colosseum Manager had no place in the world - so nothing could open them. He now stands in Gaiyan Town, about 1,100 units from the login point, as of 2 September.
The two modes
| Mode | Rule |
|---|---|
| Death Match | Team fight. Win by eliminating every enemy, or by holding the higher score when time runs out. |
| Death Match (Level-Balanced) | The same fight with matchmaking that keeps the teams close in level. |
In the unbalanced mode, players more than five levels apart cannot share a match.
The ladder
Two currencies come out of the arena: Colosseum Point and Ladder Point. Winning raises your Ladder Point, and Ladder Point carries you up six ranks:
- Recruit
- Platoon Commander
- Company Commander
- Battalion Commander
- Division Commander
- General
Your Ladder Point also raises your daily god-point cap, which resets at midnight - so arena progress feeds the Gods of War race indirectly.
⭐ The ladder started keeping score on 4 September, and this is its first day. The server calls seven arena stored procedures and only two of them were ever delivered, so for five years the Colosseum recorded nothing at all - its history table sat at zero rows and every registration logged the missing procedure. The five that were never written have now been reconstructed and applied to the live database, so results, kills and deaths are recorded from now on. Nothing before 4 September exists to be counted. ⚠️ The rank thresholds are new, and provisional. The original game stored no ladder points and no grade thresholds anywhere - the six tiers were names in a text file and nothing else. The numbers that decide when you move between them were written for this server and are expected to be tuned once real matches exist, so treat an early rank as a first cut rather than a settled ladder.
A Colosseum Penalty buff exists for players who leave matches; treat a match you registered for as a commitment.
The 1v1 duel (Showdown) is a different system entirely. The Colosseum is always team-based.
